Big corruption

In a healthy democracy, free speech, journalists, and private companies would retain independence from government influence. Yet increasingly, the American government is collaborating with Big Tech companies to surveil and monitor content people are posting in order to silence points of view that don’t fit the official narrative. Mainstream journalists have become their foot soldiers rather than defenders of free speech.

Politicians and government employees are also rife with corruption from personal investments, private (usually corporate) interests, and the revolving door between bureaucrats coming from, and going to, lucrative positions at companies they are supposed to be regulating.
